Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Water, water, everywhere

Day 1 Swimming with the fishes

Activity 1 Surfs up

My most favourite activity is swimming i can spend all day in the pool or sea, i love to play watersports and games with my cousins this photo is of me and my first cousins in melbourne at the pools. I like anything to do with water my dad has two jet skies and he takes me out on them exploring. My life 
 jacket is purple you have to be safe at sea.

Activity 2 The great taupo cycle challenge 

If i was to do the great taupo cycle challenge my crew would be made up of my mum because she would always make sure i had food and water. My second person would be my dad because he has good jokes and could fix my bike. My number 3 would be my poppa because hes my favourite person and I would want him to watch me cycle.

Activity 3 Something smells fishy

Day 5 Blink and youll miss it

Activity 1 Towering timbers

I do not think logging is good I dont support it. We hurt alot of our native animals and take away there habitat it also wreaks the land underneath. We need trees for oxygen and to absorb greenhouse gas. We need to protect the forest for the animals and people.

Activity 2 Living on the edge

I have reached the Tundra with my teacher and classmates. It is summer here the tundra only has a short summer, there are no trees here and only small plants on the ground. We are having a goodtime polar bears are here having babies!! Im hoping to see a lemming. One day i hope we can both visit.

I will see you when i get back.

Activity 3 Going going gone

Welcome to the New Zealand in 2018. We have lots of roads and shops and schools and cars. We have lots of green mountains and forests we get our food from farms and fish from our seas. We enjoy going to the beach and fishing. Ther a place in new zealand called rotorua that has lots of activitys like zip lining and the luge its on a mountain it smells funny. We also have a big big tree named tane mahuta which is surrounded by forrest. We also have a tall tower called sky tower and you can see all of auckland. I love living here.

Day 4 more than meets the eye

If i met our sir edmund hilary i would ask him these questions

1. what made you want to climb?
2. where did you grow up?
3. who did you look up to most?
4. what types of food did you eat on top of mt everest?
5. how many days did it take you to climb mt everest?

Activity 2 Pancakes and maple syrup

My favourite food is breakfast for dinner, I crack three eggs and mix them so the yolks break I put oil in the pan and heat it up on medium heat and then add eggs i push them around to make scrambled egg. I also make toast to go with it and orange juice or milo, and my mum cooks the bacon.

Day 3 awesome animals

Activity 1 Fantastic beasts

My fantastic beast is as big as a car he has big blue eyes and tiny round ears. He has scales like a mermaids tail purple during the day and glow in the dark at night. He is a very friendly beast who eats only strawberries and blueberries and loves to sleep all day under shaded trees and wonders all night looking at the stars. I call him freddy.

Would you like to be a DOC ranger and live with the animals on Great Barrier Island?
YES!

Pro's
  • looking after animals so the dont become extinct
  • everyday is different 
  • lots of fresh air

Con's
  • no shops around
  • miss my friends and family
  • wont be able to have a cat or dog

Activity 3: The WWF: World Wildlife Fund

The saimaa ringed seal are one of the most endangered species on earth. The wwf is building snowbanks that the seals can have there pups in if they didnt pups would be born in the open and risk of dieing. It is working but we need to find a better plan so we can save more.

I would one day like to visit Tane mahuta because of how old it is. I would like to have a picture with it and try to hug it.

My hometown is Papakura

It is a part of a large city called auckland. There is lots of traffic and roadworks where I live. There are lots of parks in Papakura and a swimming pool with a big blue slide. My grandparents moved here in 1980 they still live in the same house that my mum grew up in.
