Day 5 Blink and youll miss it

Activity 1 Towering timbers

I do not think logging is good I dont support it. We hurt alot of our native animals and take away there habitat it also wreaks the land underneath. We need trees for oxygen and to absorb greenhouse gas. We need to protect the forest for the animals and people.

We enjoy going to the beach and fishing. Ther a place in new zealand called rotorua that has lots of activitys like zip lining and the luge its on a mountain it smells funny. We also have a big big tree named tane mahuta which is surrounded by forrest. We also have a tall tower called sky tower and you can see all of auckland. I love living here.

  1. Kia ora ,

My name is Hazel and I am part of the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) team. I’ll be helping Jordan out in Kootuitui over the Christmas holidays. It's great to see you making such an awesome start to the programme - ka pai.

I can tell that you've put a lot of thought into your answer about whether or not you support logging. I think you made some very good points, especially the one about plants producing oxygen and providing homes for animals.

I enjoyed reading your letter to your cousin. I can tell that you did some research because of the animals that you mentioned. Would you like to visit the tundra for real one day?

Your description of New Zealand was great; I think that someone who had never visited Aotearoa would get a great sense of our country from reading your post. What is your favourite thing about living in New Zealand?

Keep up the great work, and I look forward to reading more of your posts soon.

    Hazel :)

P.S. Well done for attributing all of your images Lauryn!
